Artist Bouthayna Al Muftah creates a visual history of Qatar through her work. She explores ideas of collective memory—past and present—in bold typographic pieces on paper and canvas, textile, and film. Inspired by Qatar’s oral tradition of storytelling, Bouthayna’s artwork embodies the communities and stories of Qatar.

Through collaborations with musicians, filmmakers, fashion houses, and other artists Bouthayna creates new ideas of culture and society. Her work is internationally recognised and is held in public and private collections around the world.
